OUR INSTITUTION

SInAPSi (Services for Active and Participated Inclusion of Students) is a Support Centre of University of Naples “Federico II” devoted to those students feeling excluded from university life due to disabilities, gender and sexual orientation stigma, or temporary difficulties in their human and formative course. SInAPSi offers services to increase students’ participation to university life, providing support on welcoming, psychological and pedagogical counselling. Through its specific division of Anti-Discrimination and Culture of Differences and the “Monitoring Center of Inclusion within the University” (Osservatorio Universitario sulle Differenze), SInAPSi has consolidated operational and scientific experience in preventing and contrasting discrimination and violence toward minority and at-risk groups, especially LGBT+ and women. Specific actions of Anti- Discrimination and Culture of Differences are carried out to educate students and staff of University of Naples “Federico II” on issues related to sexual minorities and to reduce prejudice and verbal, psychological and physical violence against LGBT+ and women. In addition, SInAPSI has strong experience in the training of first responders, in national and international actions. Since 2011, several training programmes have been carried out, reaching hundreds of policemen from the Central Police Office of Naples and thousands among teachers, health professionals, and public administration representatives. Currently SInAPSi is the leader partener of the European project “Xenia He Inclusiveness Index” and an associate partner of two European projects: Bottom-up Sport Partnership / B-SPORT+ and “PADALP: Parental Advocacy In Daily Life Practices”.

WE ARE PART OF THIS PROJECT BECAUSE WE WANT TO…

Because SInAPSi deals with preventing and contrasting discrimination and violence against minorities (especially women, disabled people and the LGBTQI + community) in many areas (sport, education, lifestyles, etc.) through the promotion of a correct culture of differences by means of projects, training and educational programs.
